About Abby

Abby's 14 years brought so much joy and friendship to everyone who met her. She will be forever known for her sweet disposition, quiet confidence, and love of helping people.

Abby loved the outdoors, animals, the beach, and being in the presence of people who made her smile. Abby was the best listener, and loved connecting with people---all people. She was an amazing artist, a steady model of compassion and patience for her younger brother, and had a love for learning.

In January of 2022, Abby was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. While recovering between treatments, she developed an infection her immune system could not overcome. Abby’s strength and resilience throughout her treatment was admirable. She was persistently positive and would talk regularly about goals she planned to conquer after treatment.

The purpose of Abby’s Assist is a reflection of Abby’s values… to brighten someone’s day, to build relationships, and to know the stories of families facing challenges much like her own.  Today, Abby’s Assist helps patients and families that have been challenged with childhood leukemia and all that comes with supporting a child undergoing treatment.
